Leeson is firmly convinced that he can change things with his images of war. ‘Thus,’ he says, ‘when we raise the camera to our eye we should seek to see with our heart.’

Biography
David Leeson (United States, 1957) is a photojournalist and visual artist. From 1977 to 2008 he worked as a news photographer for The Dallas Morning News. In 2004 he won the prestigious Pulitzer Prize for his photos of the 2003 American invasion of Iraq. Leeson teaches in the Emerging Media and Communications Department at the University of Texas in Dallas, where he also lives.
