Noorderlicht received recently the demand of many photographers for some more time for submitting material for An Ocean of Possibilities, the theme of the Noorderlicht Photofestival 2014. Noorderlicht and the Singapore International Photo Festival have therefore decided to extend their joint call with 4 weeks.

The Noorderlicht Photogallery is hosting through 13 April Five Views from Korea. In this group exhibition guest curator Sujong Song presents five projects from photographers, which are the result of the frustrations felt in everyday life in a divided Korea.

Rob Hornstra & Arnold van Bruggen

From 19 April through 22 June the Noorderlicht Photogallery presents the Dutch premiere of the magnum opus by photographer Rob Hornstra and writer/filmmaker Arnold van Bruggen: The Sochi Project. The two have been working uninterruptedly since 2009 on an extensive documentary about the controversial conflict zone around Sochi: the Caucasus. Themes such as corruption, violence, terrorism and tourism run like threads through the project. This exhibition shows the final results of five years of investigations in thorough slow-journalism. The Sotchi Project is shortlisted for the Dutch Doc Award 2014.
