Exhibition Grand Theatre
Two successive exhibitions, with work that is also a part of two performances that the Grand Theatre is presenting in connection with Noorderlicht.
11 through 25 September
Toru Nagahama - I am like this as you are like this. I can act like that then you will be like that?
The photographer and graphic designer Toru Nagahama investigates how to use photography to create three-dimensional experiences. With the space of the Grand Theatre as his inspiration he made his selection and presentation of objects and moving photographs. Nagahama starts from the banality of everyday life and in a playful manner seeks interaction. His work is also a part of the installation-performance SHOES’.

Tomoko Mukaiyama - Sonic Tapestry V: SHOES'
The most rhythmic objects in the fashion world are women's heels. In the theatrical installation/performance SHOES' the artist and pianist Tomoko Mukaiyama combines four centuries of the piano repertoire with unlikely shoes by Prada, Christian Louboutin, Manolo Blahnik and others. The pumps are the dramatic counterpoint to the music: they dance, weep, make love and die.
