Karen Vlieger has had cancer since 2008, and has been incurably ill since 2010. From the start, she and her partner have recorded the progress of the illness, first of all to be able to recognise the reality of what was happening, but also to be able to talk about her new life with 'outsiders', who otherwise could not form any image of the changes that her illness brought with it.
