Those looking at the photographs of Marion Kraus are initially misled, as they appear to be paintings. Which is not so strange, because Kraus is a visual artist by origin. Photography, however, has always drawn her. History is another great love of Marion Kraus. A huge source of inspiration for her still lifes is the seventeenth century. The sense of symbolism and textural expression of which particularly appeal to her. She wishes to depict this atmosphere in her photographs using modern techniques.
