At 4:00 p.m. on 1 September, 2012, Dutch TV-presenter, journalist and columnist Jort Kelder will conduct the gala opening of the 19th Noorderlicht International Photo Festival, Terra Cognita, together with the Provincial deputy for culture from Friesland, Jannewietske de Vries. Members of the press are warmly welcome. All of the exhibition locations will be opened for the press after 11:00 a.m. on that day.

Most of these photographers will also still be present in Heerenveen on 2 September.

Press previews

Beginning on 30 August it will be possible to arrange a sneak preview of the exhibitions in Museum Belvédère, the main location for Terra Cognita, and the ancillary locations, Museum Dr8888, Museum Willem van Haren and the Blokhuispoort, during their construction. If desired, director Ton Broekhuis and curator Wim Melis will give personal guided tours for journalists, and will be available for interviews.

Press packets

Press packets, includinga sample of images, will be available at the reception desk of Museum Belvédère on display of your press card. It is also possible to have the material sent to you.
