Wall House #2
Thought Provoking, Sense Provoking
Op uitnodiging van Noorderlicht en de Stichting Wall House #2 verbleven acht internationale fotografen beurtelings in het Wall House. Zij lieten zich inspireren en uitdagen door dit even betoverende als weerbarstige gebouw. Hun ideeën en emoties verwerkten ze in acht persoonlijke series, die samen een verrassend eerbetoon vormen aan de architectuur, fotografie en fantasie.
De publicatie omvat twee delen die in een industrieel ontworpen omslag zitten. Één deel toont in 96 pagina's de foto's en één is gewijd aan essays (62 pagina's).
Wall House #2, in 2001 gebouwd in de stad Groningen, geniet als architectonisch experiment wereldwijde faam. De ontwerper, de Amerikaanse architect en architectuurtheoreticus John Hejduk (1929-2000), vond dan ook dat architectuur bovenal moet uitdagen en inspireren: 'It is essential that the architect creates works that are thought provoking, sense provoking and ultimately life provoking'.
